Why travel to Vietnam and Cambodia with Djoser?

A journey to Vietnam with Djoser is a comfortable and diverse trip through a country with a rich history. We will travel through these countries using private transportation mostly with air-conditioning. We will stay at good tourist class hotels. We offer 11 and 18-day trips that go exclusively to Vietnam, as well as 15 and 23-day trips that go to Vietnam and Cambodia. All of the trips will visit Hanoi as well as Ho Chi Minh City, where you will be able to take an optional excursion through the fascinating Mekong Delta. At the beginning of the 18 and 23-day trips, we will visit Sa Pa, home to the Hill Tribes. Also the contemporary culture has a lot to offer. In addition to culture the trip offers much natural beauty. Near Halong Bay you may take a magnificent boat trip through a seascape dotted with limestone rocks. During this trip you will furthermore have opportunities to enjoy beaches that are usually within walking distance of our hotels.

Will I be on my own to find places to eat?

No. The group will usually have breakfast together at the hotels. The guide will suggest safe places to eat for other meals. You are free to join the guide and other group members at meals or you can explore on your own. He/she will give you safe recommendations. You will only pay for the meals that you eat so you have ultimate flexibility.

Will I be on my own to find activities?

The same applies as for meals. The guide will discuss suggested plans for the day with the group, first thing in the morning. Group members can either join the guide and other travelers for an activity, or they can explore on their own. Again, the guide will give fun suggestions for places to go on your own. Unless otherwise noted in the program, you will pay for your own entry fees for museums or sites, as you go. So you only pay for the things that you choose to do.

What is the extra value of the journey to Cambodia as well as Vietnam?

A visit to Cambodia, which rather recently has been opened for tourists, takes you to the two highlights of the country on the 23-day trip, namely the capital Phnom Penh and the temples of Angkor near Siem Reap. We will cross the border to Cambodia by boat over the mighty Mekong River. We will also cover the distance between the two cities by boat. This is a unique experience in a wonderful culture, in short a beautiful extension to the trip through Vietnam.

Are there ATM machines in Vietnam and Cambodia?

You will find more and more ATM machines in Vietnam, namely in Saigon, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue and Hanoi. Besides your bank pass we recommend that you also bring a certain amount in traveler’s checks in Euros or U.S. Dollars, because these are insured against theft. In general traveler’s checks from American Express are more readily accepted than the checks from Thomas Cook. It will also be handy to have a small amount of cash Euros or U.S. Dollars. In Cambodia you won’t be able to use ATM machines at all; therefore you should bring traveler’s checks or cash in U.S. Dollars.
