TRIP CODE: ISCA-27  This trip takes you back to the beginning of history. In Istanbul and Ankara experience the atmosphere of historical as well as modern times. Witness the natural wonders of Cappadocia and the sparsely traveled southeastern part of Turkey. In Syria and Jordan, walk through typical eastern cities such as Aleppo, Damascus and Amman. Have a taste of the Bedouin experience in the desert and afterwards leave for the cities Palmyra and Petra. In Egypt travel from the coast to the Gulf of Aqaba in Cairo and you will still have plenty of time to see the Egyptian culture and visit the pyramids.  On this trip, you will have the option to travel with North American groups (with local, English-speaking guide) or join our international groups, joining Dutch & Belgian travelers.

LODGINGS:  We stay in general in comfortable tourist class (3-star) hotels with a cozy atmosphere and a central location. There are double rooms booked with private shower and toilet, where appropriate, with air conditioning. The rooms are well maintained and clean. In eastern Turkey, the tourism is still in its infancy. Do do not expect more than basic necessities.

INCLUSIVES:  The cost of a guide assisted land package includes an English-speaking tour leader (as a logistics coordinator, not a lecturer), city-to-city transport, accommodations as described.
