When Scheduling Your Flight
This program is offered in conjunction with the Djoser, Netherlands office but must be booked through Djoser, in the United States.  On this trip you will join Dutch & Belgium participants.  So that all travelers in the group have the same point of reference, the days in the day-to-day descriptions below correspond with the program description for the Dutch travelers, taking into account their travel time from Amsterdam.

When you book your flight, please keep in mind to the estimated times of arrival and departure of the Dutch participants. You should plan to arrive prior to the Dutch travelers.  

Kas

Day 1 - Dalaman - Fethiye
Day 2 Fethiye - walk to Gombe Semsi
After the arrival of your flight in Dalaman, on our first night we drive to the coastal town of Fethiye. The next morning we drive from Kas, where we can make our final purchases, to the starting point of the hike. The next few days we leave the touriseted area for our trek in the beautiful Taurus Mountains . You spend eight nights in a small mountain villages with host families’ homes. This is a fun way to experience the local life.. We often communicate with our hands. The large luggage is sent out ahead so you can enjoy the surroundings unencumbered. The first walking day starts at 1200 meter, just south of Gombe high on a slope. We drive here from Greenhouse in about ninety minutes. We walk today about five hours through pine forest and apple orchards and walking across small rivers. Except for some short steep climbs, in this area, we have a relaxing walk. On arrival in Semsi, a wet place, you see a lush growth of figs, cherries, beans and almonds. On arrival we are welcomed by our host families. They cook a tasty meal for us in the evening..

Semsi, Sutlegen

Day 3 Semsi - walk to Sutlegen
After breakfast we walk in about two hours from Semsi to Sutlegen by orchards and cornfields, and you can enjoy the magnificent views of the valleys and ancient mountain village of Nisa. The melting snow in the winter causes the rivers to fille with water which irrigates the area. After lunch we take a walk with our family to Nisa. Walking around in this area you can all imagine what it has previously been seen. From the little village at the mountain you have a nice view over the adjacent ravine. After visiting Nisa we walk back up to Sutlegen, which includes a visit to Nisa Today you will walk about five hours. Our host family in Sutlegen will again make a delicious meal.

Walk Duration: 5 hours +, 100m and 130 meter meter drop and rise
Sutlegen Day 4 - walk to Camlikoy
Today is the longest walking day as you put in about seven hours and 25 kilometers.. We walk on village roads, through fragrant pine forests and shady forest paths. En route you see little "yayla'-villages or settlements where the herds of cattle graze during the dry,. Camlikoy, which lies at an altitude of about 900 meters, means "Pine Village". There is a small cluster of buildings between the anise and wheat fields. In the afternoon you have enough time to enjoy the hospitality of your host family and the fresh mountain air.

Length: 25 km, hiking time: 7 hours +, + 200 meter and 400 meter rise and fall


Camlikoy

Day 5  Camlikoy  - Walk to Arsakoy
We say goodbye to our family and continue our journey along irrigation canals and continue climbing through a fragrant pine forest. In the afternoon we walk through quiet countryside and enjoy the landscape that stretches for you. You have enough time to go to stop somewhere to sample the freshly baked, unleavened "bread-yufku. About five hours later we reach Arsakoy on a steep mountainside where you enjoy beautiful views of the Xanthos Valley and Akdag Mountain Range. The rest of the afternoon you have time to simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Walk Duration: 5 hours +, + 340 meter rise, + 250 meter drop


Arsakoy

Day 6 Arsakoy - Walk to Dibi Kaya, Kaya Koyu - walk to Oludeniz - Fethiye
From Arsakoy we walk to the  bus which is ready to take us to the ancient settlement at Kaya Koyu . Kaya Koyu, means “rock town”. It was abandoned after the Turkish Independence War in the '20s in the last century. Between the ruins of thousands of homes you get the feeling that you are in a  ghost town. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to hike to Oludeniz. The tour takes you first on top of a ridge where you have wonderful views over Kaya. During the last run, you look out over the beautiful coastline and sheltered bays. Olüdeniz is an idyllic lagoon where you can swim or relax on the beach. In the afternoon the bus brings us back to civilization, to the coastal town of Fethiye,located on a beautiful bay. High above this seaside resort you can see the 2500 years-old rock tombs and sarcophagi of the kings of Lycians. Fethiye offers many fun, cozy restaurants.

Fethiye

Day 7 Fethiye, cruise
Day 8 Fethiye - Dalaman

From Fethiye we board a  beautiful boat. We sail along the beautiful southern Turkish coast and stop at different islands. The rocky coastline is interrupted by quiet bays, where you can laze on lovely sunny beaches, snorkel or swim. It is a day to just completely recover from the last days of walking and to enjoy the azure sea.

The bus takes you in the morning from Fethiye to Dalaman for your flight back home.
