Why go to Thailand and Cambodia with Djoser?

Thailand has something for everyone; bustling cities, tropical beaches, ancient temples, river communities. In Thailand we always travel by private bus and the route from Chiang Mai to Bangkok will be covered by a comfortable night train. The trips will be accompanied by a local, English-speaking Thai guide. The most important sights of the country, such as the capital Bangkok, the old capitals of Sukhothai and Ayutthaya, the bridge near the River Kwai, Chiang Mai and a tropical beach will be visited on the trips through the north. On the longer trips you can also do a trek through the beautiful mountain region around Chiang Mai, which is well known for various hill tribes. Meals during the trek are included. During the trek you will spend nights at primitive homes with the local population, which is a unique experience.

All trips come to an end at a tropical island, where you may relish the memory of a wonderful trip with culture as well as natural beauty. The flights for these trips are with reliable airlines.

Do the hotels have pools?

At several locations the accommodations will include the use of a pool.  Furthermore at the River Kwai you will get to stay on the river in “floatels,” known as the floating hotels. You will spend the night in an accommodation at the beach at Koh Samed or at Koh Chang.

In Cambodia we spend the night in small tourist class hotels; all the rooms have private baths and air-conditioning.

What kind of transportation will we use in Thailand?

During the tour through Thailand we mainly use modern air-conditioned busses with spacious seats. Depending on group size some trips will be done in one or more minivans that also have air-conditioning.

Will I be on my own to find places to eat?

No. The group will usually have breakfast together at the hotels. The guide will suggest safe places to eat for other meals. You are free to join the guide and other group members at meals or you can explore on your own. He/she will give you safe recommendations. You will only pay for the meals that you eat so you have ultimate flexibility.

What is the difference between the various trips through Thailand?

The 17-day trip is similar to the 12-day trip, however, includes a trek outside of Chiang Mai where we will visit the Hill Tribes and stay in authentic stilt houses. On the 16-day and 22-day trips, you continue your journey on to Cambodia. Both visit the famous, once-lost city and temples of Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. On the 22-day program you also visit Phenom Penh. On these latter two programs, we return to the United States from Cambodia.
