On this group tour of Russia you will join adventurous travelers from Holland and Belgium. This trip combines a visit to beautiful cities like St. Petersburg and Moscow, with the historic cities of Kazan, Novgorod and Russian Yekaterinburg. We also get a chance to see rural environments along the Volga River and the Urals mountains in the less-visited parts of this huge country.

LODGINGS: We spend the night during the trip in tourist class hotels with private baths. The Russian hotels were built in the 70s and 80s built in the typical linear Soviet style. The hotel "dezjoernaja", the floor lady, manages the room key, and drinks and hot water for tea. This is a dying phenomenon in the Russian system. There are no luggage porters. Toilet paper is always available in hotels, but rather scarce. In most hotels you will find ia piece of soap, but shampoo is are. You can expect a cold shower, on occasion. When we travel by train we stay in reserved, four-person couchettes.
