This trip combines a visit to beautiful cities like St. Petersburg and Moscow, with the historic cities of Kazan, Novgorod and Russian Yekaterinburg. We also get a chance to see rural environments along the Volga River and the Urals mountains in the less-visited parts of this huge country.

GUIDE:  Dutch tour leader accompanies the group.
LODGINGS:  We spend the night during the trip in tourist class hotels with private baths. The Russian hotels were built in the 70s and 80s built in the typical linear Soviet style. The hotel "dezjoernaja", the floor lady, manages the room key, and drinks and hot water for tea. This is a dying phenomenon in the Russian system. There are no luggage porters. Toilet paper is always available in hotels, but rather scarce. In most hotels you will find ia piece of soap, but shampoo is are. You can expect a cold shower, on occasion. When we travel by train we stay in reserved, four-person couchettes.

SINGLES: Unless you request single accommodations, singles will be matched with a same-sex roommate. If we cannot match you, there is no additional charge for the single. Single accommodations are not available on the train.

INCLUSIVES:  The cost of a guide assisted land package includes an English-speaking tour leader (as a logistics coordinator, not a lecturer), city-to-city transport, accommodations as described. Airport transfers at beginning and end of land program,   
EXCLUSIVES:  International flights, other meals, optional excursions, entrance fees not specifically named, visa or exit taxes (when applicable) gratuities, personal expenses, etc.  Estimated Out-of-Pocket Weekly: $ 385

PRIVATE TOURS/CUSTOM DATE:  If you have a party of 8 or more, you can book almost any of Djoser’s group programs on a private basis. In this case we would use  a local guide(s). Lodging upgrades or smaller group size (when possible) would incur additional costs.

The land program begins depending on the flight arrival time of the Dutch participants who fly together from Amsterdam. The group will typically meet about 2 to 3 hours after their arrival, at the hotel. If they have a late evening arrival, the program will begin early the next morning. Please note their scheduled flight times below to estimate your own flight times.
