In Sergiev, Posad Trinity Monastery is the center of the Russian Orthodox Church. The monumental St. Petersburg makes up the last days of the journey. A visit to the Hermitage museum should not be missed.

LODGINGS:  We spend the night during the trip in tourist classhotels witih private baths. The Russian hotels were built in the 70s and 80s built in the typical linear Soviet style. The hotel dezjoernaja, the floor lady, manages the room key, and drinks and hot water for tea. This is a dying phenomenon in the Russian system. There are no luggage porters. Toilet paper is always available in hotels, but rather scarce. In most hotels you will find ia piece of soap, but shampoo isr are. You can expect a cold shower, on occasion.
