Discover the magnificent Andes in Peru, the mysterious Inca ruins and the colorful, traditional Indian population. We visit the city famous for the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu and Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Incas. It is also possible to book a hike on the Inca Trail (for the heartier travelers) . Cusco and Arequipa have a beautiful colonial center with a central courtyard full of cozy restaurants and terraces. In the desert we sleep in the oasis Huacachina and of course, the Nasca lines are included in the program. We travel from Arequipa to the enormous Colca Canyon and to Amantani. On the island in Lake Titicaca, we stay in a family home.

GUIDE:  Dutch tour leader accompanies the group.
LODGINGS:  We stay in comfortable, centrally located hotel. However, do not expect luxury facilities in your room. The rooms are clean and you almost always have a shower and toilet in your room. It may be that hot water is only available a few hours a day. In most rooms there is no heating, in these poor countries this is still a relative luxury. We try as much as possible to find hotels with a colonial atmosphere and character. In the oasis in the desert our hotel has a swimming pool. On the island of Amantani we stay in a family home. Certainly do not expect comfort, the accommodation is very primitive, because we live here in a very traditional way. The families are very hospitable and they do their very best to make sense to you.

SINGLES: Unless you request single accommodations, singles will be matched with a same-sex roommate. If we cannot match you, there is not additional charge for the single.

INCLUSIVES:  The cost of a guide assisted land package includes an English-speaking tour leader (as a logistics coordinator, not a lecturer), city-to-city transport, accommodations as described. Airport transfers at beginning and end of land program,   
EXCLUSIVES:  International flights, other meals, optional excursions, entrance fees not specifically named, visa or exit taxes (when applicable) gratuities, personal expenses, etc.  Estimated Weekly Out-of-Pocket Expenses: $  310

PRIVATE TOURS/CUSTOM DATE:  If you have a party of 8 or more, you can book almost any of Djoser’s group programs on a private basis. In this case we would use  a local guide(s). Lodging upgrades or smaller group size (when possible) would incur additional costs.

The land program begins depending on the flight arrival time of the Dutch participants who fly together from Amsterdam. The group will typically meet about 2 to 3 hours after their arrival, at the hotel. If they have a late evening arrival, the program will begin early the next morning. Please note their scheduled flight times below to estimate your own flight times.
