Why choose Djoser to go to Morocco?

Both tours through Morocco are wonderful. On the eleven-day tour as well as on the twenty-one-day tour we will visit the royal cities of Rabat, Fez and Marrakech. Additionally the twenty-one-day tour will take you through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and through the Sahara. Also extraordinary is the visit to Chefchaouen in the Riff Mountains, an ideal region for some nice hiking. Excursions to Meknes and Volubilis are always included. The comfortable hotels are centrally located.

Will I be on my own to find places to eat?

No. The group will usually have breakfast together at the hotels. The guide will suggest safe places to eat for other meals. You are free to join the guide and other group members at meals or you can explore on your own. He/she will give you safe recommendations. You will only pay for the meals that you eat so you have ultimate flexibility.

Will I be on my own to find activities?

The same applies as for meals. The guide will discuss suggested plans for the day with the group, first thing in the morning. Group members can either join the guide and other travelers for an activity, or they can explore on their own. Again, the guide will give fun suggestions for places to go on your own. Unless otherwise noted in the program, you will pay for your own entry fees for museums or sites, as you go. So you only pay for the things that you choose to do.

What’s transportation like in Morocco?

During the entire trip we will use a comfortable bus with – when needed – air conditioning and a personal driver. Because we will have our own transportation we will always have the possibility to stop along the way for picture taking, or to visit a market, or to take a break in some beautiful nature. The bus trips generally take about four hours. There are a small number of longer days of travel such as the day that you will travel from Fez to Erfoud and from Zagora to Marrakech. In that case you will arrive at your destination at the end of the day, because you will visit a number of sights along the way. Who are the participants on these trips?

On the 11-day program, there are North American travelers only, with a local, Engish-speaking, Moroccan guide. On the 21-day program, you will be joining a Dutch group of travelers. There will be a Dutch tour leader who will accompany the group. The group will be addressed first in Dutch, then in English.

What are the hotels like in Morocco?

We will spend the night in clean, comfortable hotels with private bathrooms and showers. Some hotels are air-conditioned. We will use centrally located hotels with character. For example in Tangier and Rabat we will spend the night in an attractive colonial hotel. In the beautiful but remote ‘Gorge du Todra’ we will spend the night in a simple hotel, where electricity is provided by a generator. This lack of luxury will be well-compensated by its beautiful surroundings. The hotels in Erfoud, Zagora and Marrakech all have pools. Of course you may also cool off at the beach in Essaouira. What is the best time to travel to Morocco?

Morocco is a fine destination for traveling all year round. Even the warmer summer season is a fine time for traveling, because the air will be warm and dry. In the heat of the day you may look for some shade, but in the morning you may very well participate in an excursion, while during the afternoon you may enjoy a medina and buy nice souvenirs.

Is Morocco a nice place for hiking?

It will be worth it to bring along good hiking shoes with good tread (sneakers do not have good traction). In the Riff Mountains near Chefchaouen you may take magnificent hikes in the mountains. Also a hike through the Todra-Gorge near Tinerhir during the twenty-one-day tour is a wonderful experience.

May I book a private trip to Morocco?

For the 11-day program you can book a custom date for a private group of 2 or more people for an additional $100 per person. There is no surcharge for groups of 8 or more and further discounts apply to larger groups.

For the 21-day program you can book a private group and custom date for 8 or more travelers.
