Take a trek in the Dogon Valley. The trip down the Niger River where we visit the famous Timbuktu. Sikasso, home to the Senufo people makes for an interesting end to our Mali trip.

GUIDE:   Dutch tour leader accompanies.
LODGINGS:   In Bamako, Segou, Sevare / Mopti and Timbuktu we stay in good but simple hotels. Your room is equipped with private shower and toilet and air conditioning or fan. Expect frequent blackouts. In Djenné we stay in the camp, in very simple houses with shared bathrooms. During the trekking in the Dogon Valley we sleep on the roof of a house or the yard of a villager. Furthermore, we camp wild on the banks of the Niger during the Pinas tour of Mopti to Timbuktu and the second night in a family Touareg in the desert outside Timbuktu. The conditions during the nights camping and trekking in the Dogon Valley are very primitive.

SINGLES: Unless you request single accommodations, singles will be matched with a same-sex roommate. If we cannot match you, there is not additional charge for the single.
CHILD LAND DISCOUNT: For party of 2,  5% (12 to 18 yrs), 10% (11 and under). Parties of 3 to 5 are reduced an additional 5%.

Inclusives:  City-to-city transport, tour leader, accommodations as described, airport transfers at arrival and departure from beginning and end of land program. Pinas trip, meals during trek.  VALUE OF INCLUSIVES: $140

The land program begins depending on the flight arrival time of the Dutch participants who fly together from Amsterdam. The group will typically meet about 2 to 3 hours after their arrival, at the hotel. If they have a late evening arrival, the program will begin early the next morning. Please note their scheduled flight times below to estimate your own flight times.

Scheduled departure:  FINAL DAY,  10:45 PM

Schedule your flight to arrive prior to the Dutch participants so as not to  miss the first meeting, activity or transfer. If you need additional hotel nights at the beginning or end of the program, please inquire.
