CHALLENGE LEVEL:  Intermediate. Overnight in desert on on sailboat.
LODGINGS:  In Egypt, where we make use of three-star hotels. The rooms are equipped with shower / toilet and air conditioning.  In Sinai, we stay in the new hotel near the St. Catherine's Monastery located. Also on the beach at Dahab is a new modern hotel just located on a beautiful bay with private beach, where a restaurant and a swimming pool are available. In the oases and Abu Simbel, where tourism is still in its infancy, we stay in simple hotels, where the bathrooms may be shared. We will also take an overnight felucca trip. There is not a bathroom on board but we make regular stops.  There is (one night) sleeping on deck on thick mats. In Farafra and Abu Simbel we spend the night in the desert in tents or outdoors.
