Day by Day Program




Day 1
   
Kunming

Arrive in Beijing in the afternoon. Take a connected flight to Kunming. Arrive in Kunming at night, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Welcome dinner.


Day2
    
Kunming - Stone Forest - Jiuxiang - Kunming

After breakfast, we drive to Lunan, tour the Stone Forest, it bristles 75 miles southeast of Kunming. The ashen stone pillars, abandoned by the sea as it receded hundreds of millions of years ago, bunch together into a geological ticket. The journey to the forest is as beautiful as the landscape that surrounds it. Take an excursion to the remarkable Jiuxiang. Known primarily for its limestone caves, it also boasts an underground waterfall and an awesome gorge. Return to Kunming. In the evening, we are in for a special treat of Yunnan Specialties.


Day3
    
Kunming - Dali

After breakfast, you are free to tour Kunming , we suggest you can tour Daguan Pavilion and West Hill Park. We fly to Dali. Dali is a city in the West of Yunan, with historical, scenic and architectural significance.We will visit the old street at night.


Day4
    
Dali

Half day tour: boat excursion on Lake Erhai-the second largest fresh lake in Yunnan Province, then board on Nanzhao Island, which used to be the Summer Resort of ancient Nanzhao State.

In the afternoon you are free to tour the old city, Butterfly Spring, the traditional minority house, the pagodas at the Congsheng Temple, the Temple was constructed during the Tang Dynasty and is one of China¡¦s finest example of the skill and architectural genius of the ancient craftsmen.

Day5
   
Dali - Lijiang

After breakfast, we journey by bus to Lijiang, the cultural center of the Naxi Minority. Lijiang has beautiful landscapes and has been designated by the UN as a World Cultural Heritage Site. Gaze in wonder at the sights and sounds of this ancient city as you walk down the cobblestone streets preserved for over 700 years. We see that the Naxi way of life has changed very little over time. Upon arrival, we tour the old town of Lijiang including Black Dragon Pond.


Day6
   
Lijiang

Suggestive tours: In the morning, take a tour of Spruce Meadow of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains. In the afternoon, on our return to the city, visit the Baisha Village, the ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom. Then stop at the Shuhe Old Town for a visit. Enjoy the famous Naxi Music in the evening.
   

Day7
    
Lijiang - Tiger Leap Gorge - Shangri-la

After breakfast, we drive to tour the Tiger Leap Gorge. This gorges is 12 miles long with a natural drop of 623ft, and it is considered as one of the three worldwide renowned gorges. Then we drive to Shangri-la. It is the place commonly believed to have been used as the mythical Shangri-la in James Hilton's book "Lost Horizon".


Day8
    
Shangri-la

About 25 miles from Shangri-la, we come upon the Shangri-la Grassland. In the months of May and June azaleas cover this area like a splendid carpet. Then we visit Songzai Temple.    


Day9
   
Shangri-la - Lijiang

After breakfast, we drive back to Lijiang, on the way you will pass a number of unique Tibetan villages and flower blooming grasslands.


Day10
   
Lijiang - Kunming - Guilin

After breakfast, you are free to make your own tour, you can visit the Wood House. Old Town of Lijiang is a famous historical and cultural city in China. Wood House is located in the ancient city, made of wooden plates, the construction, spectacular Ming. Unfortunately, most of the building was destroyed in the late Qing conflagration; the surviving stone arches were destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution." After the 1996 earthquake, the World Bank loaned a huge sum of money to help the reconstruction of Wood House. After three years of hard, utmost efforts to ensure that the wood was like a reproduction. Wood House is a brilliant architectural art Court, which fully reflects the Ming architectural style and Zhongyuan temperament, while preserving the ancient Tang and Song Zhongyuan construction. We fly back to Kunming and take a connected flight to Guilin in the afternoon.

Day11
    
Guilin

Guilin, a city located in the southwest, is famous for its splendid natural scenery. Suggestive tour: Cruising down the Li River, you will enter a living  gallery. You will pass along the picturesque riverbank and see limestone vistas. Disembark at Yangshuo to experience a colorful local market. Return to Guilin in the afternoon.

Day12
 
Guilin - Guangzhou

Suggestive tours: After breakfast, you may tour Reed Flute Cave, which has another beautiful name: "the Art Palace of Nature".  This Cave features fantastic natural stalactite and stalagmite formations, artfully illuminated by multicolored lights. Another magnificent view you should not miss is Elephant Trunk Hill. Take night train to Guangzhou in the everning (soft-sleeper).

Day13
   
Guangzhou 

After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport and fly back home. You will be in the United States the same day. End of tour.

Today you can also take a train to Hong Kong. Our representative can can obtain the train ticket for you (your expense ). Stay in Hong Kong at your expense and fly home.
