Through South America, we see many different natural landscapes, from jungles to the snowy Andes, cultures ranging from Indian civilizations to modern cities and the beach culture of Brazil. The journey begins in the bustling Rio, we experience the impressive nature of Brazil in Ilha Grande, Bonito and the Pantanal. Bolivia, Sucre, Potosí, the salt plains of Uyuni and La Paz are all on the program. We also stay in Lake Titicaca on Isla del Sol. We conclude the journey in the ancient Inca capital of Cusco, with a train ride to Machu Picchu.

LODGINGS:  We stay in comfortable, centrally located hotel. Breakfast is included at all hotels. Some of our hotels are charming, some have a colonial character. Some are very spartan. We take a comfortable night bus to La Paz, with meal service.  These buses are more comparable to our trains in the U.S. We take a night train to Santa Cruz.
